Albert Quintana
Albert Quintana, formerly known as Mr. Q and El Maestro, is a retired Social Studies Teacher from Adams City High School and radio show host on the Q-Nection show at KUHS Denver. He is a native Coloradoan who graduated from Adams City High School. Albert received his BA degree at the University of Northern Colorado in 1975. In 1983 received his Master’s Degree from The University of Colorado at Boulder with an emphasis in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. After retiring from his 30 years of teaching, he started his writing career with his first book, A Teacher Grows up in Commerce City. Several years later he wrote, No More Green Chili. And finally, The Crochet Lady is his 3rd book. In 2001 he received the Colorado Teacher Award. ​ Today he makes his retirement home in Edmond, Oklahoma. He is married to Louise Quintana who also retired from Adams County School District 14. They have 3 children, DesaRey, Melody, Javier and two grandsons Cortez and Monte Mora. Melody and her husband Carlos Mora are realtors. His son is an English teacher at EagleCrest High School in Cherry Creek. Jen, Javier’s wife is also a successful teacher at George Washington High School. His passion is to travel to all of those places in history that he's studied. His goal is to unveil those hidden stories of Colorado and New Mexico.
